Pulse

Toronto, a city in lockdown. A city that is still very much alive. Cars speeding through; a constant flow of people. It may be in a lockdown, but the city still has a pulse. Day or night, if you listen carefully you can hear the city’s heartbeat. Shot in Toronto during the most recent lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this experimental short film uses time lapse and stop motion photography to show that the city is far from dead. Cars passing through at night. People doing what they can to stay safe, but still keep moving. Like a heart, the city pulses, people flowing through like its lifeblood. We may be physically apart, but we are all in this together.
